Happy Father’s Day

Being a dad is the coolest job I could have ever dreamed of having.  Being a dad of a child with Asperger Syndrome is a challenging and very rewarding job.

The day Kaitlyn was born changed my life.  I was suddenly thrust into a job that I was completely unprepared for.  And I struggle with the job every day.

But today, I get to take a minute and really soak in being a dad.  I truly feel blessed to have such a wonderful daughter in my life, one that teaches me daily.  And one that can both frustrate me and make me laugh over the course of less than a minute.

Happy Father’s Day to all the dads out there, and especially to my dad.  He taught me so many things, and you can read more about him here.

Kaitlyn and I before the fun run at the Breast Cancer Marathon in February 2012.
