It was like there was a completly different Kaitlyn in the car this morning when I dropped her off at school. Gone was the worry, pressure, and stress of the ITBS test. Starting today, Kaitlyn can go back to just being a kindergarten student.
I’ve written several times about last week (as recently as Friday). But I left out something that just broke my heart.
Before she went to bed Friday night, I asked Kaitlyn if she was excited and happy that the testing was over. She was overjoyed. And then, as tears welled up in her eyes, she told me that she just wants school to be back to “normal” and she wants to be back doing her “normal routine.” And that, to me, is the effect of the testing. She was so thrown off that she cried for her regular day.
That speaks volumes.
