Helping Out

With Autism Awareness Month (April) fast approaching, and World Autism Awareness Day (April 2) right around the corner, we have been looking for stores that are committed to raising autism awareness.

Last year, Home Depot was the place to buy the bulbs to light up your home or office (it’s not a secret, Mr. President), and I am going to go out on a limb and say that they will have them available there again this year.

This year, however, Toys ‘r Us is helping to raise awareness.  From now until April 30, you can go to your local store and, when checking out, donate to Autism Speaks (click here for more details from Toys ‘r Us and to donate online).  A $10 donation nets you a nice tote bag, and we got ours today.

As I discover more stores that are helping to raise awareness, I will try to post them on here.  You can also purchase Light It Up Blue gear from the Autism Speaks website.
